Have you ever found yourself wanting something to happen right now, but it seems to take longer than expected?

Well, I sure have. We live in a world of instant gratification. Just take a quick look around and you’ll see fast food restaurants, drive-thru pharmacies, quick remedies for weight loss and the “quick draw McGraw” of news…the internet. Isn’t it amazing how addicted we are to instant things?

It really becomes prevalent when you have to wait in a checkout line at the grocery store and you realize just how impatient you are to get out of there; even if you don’t have anywhere else to go.

When time is of the essence and you have absolutely no understanding of what is happening; the most important thing you can do is have PATIENCE! It is certainly one of the hardest lessons to learn. Yet, it is one of the most crucial in your daily walk with God.

Here’s why…In James 1:2-4, God is very specific why we must learn patience.

“Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.  Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.  But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfectly and fully developed, lacking in nothing.”

In other words, God is telling us that we should rejoice in difficult situations, knowing that God tests our faith to bring out patience. During trials, all kinds of junk are brought to the surface. Things like anger, rebellion, self-pity, complaining and pride. It is so important to deal with this stuff so that God can take us to the next level.

So, let’s put it in a step-by-step process:

  1. Trials come and we face all the “icky” stuff
  2. This in turns helps us develop Patience
  3. Patience helps us develop Endurance
  4. Endurance creates a mature character
  5. A mature character brings us to absolutely nothing lacking within our lives.

Let’s face it…most of us have absolutely no clue what God is up to when He calls us. But one thing for certain is that He knows the end from the beginning. Ecclesiastes 7:8 reminds us, “Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patience in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.” And Galatians 6:9 tells us, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

So, I don’t know about you but the ending sure sounds better than the beginning. It doesn’t matter how long we have to wait, it is far more rewarding to wait on the Lord’s timing because His timing is perfect and the outcome will exceed all of our expectations.

God Loves You 2There are absolutely no limitations to what God can do for you. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. (John 14:6) And…we hold life and death in our tongues. (Proverbs 18:21) So what are you saying about your life? Are you complaining? Are you moping? Are you discouraged? Are you stressed out?

When you don’t see a way out of your current situation, the best thing you can do is LOOK UP. One small touch from God can miraculously change your whole situation. In a heartbeat, you can go from broke to more than enough.  In a blink of an eye, you could be at the right place, at the right time to meet the right person.

God has you covered. Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. (John 10:10) He doesn’t want you to miss out on any opportunities or lack in any area of your life. He wants the absolute best for you!

So…

  • When you feel pain within your body…confirm your healing by saying, “by His stripes I am healed.”
  • When you are lacking in an area of your life…say, “God supplies all my needs.”
  • When fear and stress is wearing you down…say “God did not make me with a spirit of fear. I will overcome.”

By speaking His words over your life, you are giving God permission to move on your behalf. And you know what that means? God’s miraculous solutions can cause a sudden change. In a blink of an eye, your life can become BIGGER, GREATER, and MORE REWARDING!

REMEMBER…

  • YOU ARE A CHILD OF THE MOST HIGH GOD!
  • WALK CONFIDENTLY IN THE MIDST OF YOUR STORM!
  • COME BOLDLY TO THE THRONE ROOM OF GOD!
  • AND EXPECT HIS MIRACULOUS SOLUTIONS!

All it takes is one small touch from our Loving Father. Give it to Him and watch with expectancy. He will SUDDENLY move on your behalf and everything will be alright!

 BELIEVE IT – RECEIVE IT – EXPECT IT!

How Big Can You Dream?

WildernessCan you see the beauty that surrounds you everyday? The stars. The mountains. The ever-changing clouds. The oceans and rivers. The plants and animals. Millions of species that we don’t even know the names of. It is absolutely breathtaking when you stop to think about it. But what about people? There are billions of people in this world and most of them go about their day, just hoping to get by. They settle for much less and hope for the rest.

Did you know that the Bible tells us that God knew and approved of you before you were even born? (Jeremiah 1:5) He had a specific plan created just for you. There is no one like you. There is no one with the special talents God gave you. No one has the same plan. You were magnificently designed by the Creator of the Universe. How AWESOME is that?

No matter where you come from. No matter who your parents are. No matter what neighborhood you lived in. No matter where you went to school. No matter what you have encountered so far in your life…none of it determines your destiny.

God has the most incredible future in store for you.

  • If you need a job…God wants you to have an awesome job that you love, with benefits galore.
  • If you need a place to live, God doesn’t want just a roof over your head…He wants a fantastic home for you, that you can be proud of.
  • If your finances have dried up, God doesn’t just want you to get by…He wants you to have more than enough so you can be a blessing to others.
  • If you need healing, God doesn’t just want you to be healed in a specific area…He wants you completely whole and well!

That’s the incredible God we serve!

No matter what we can think or imagine…God wants us to have even more. No matter what we face…God already has the solution. God knows every hair on your head and you are more valuable to Him than you realize. There’s no need to be worried or afraid! (Luke 12:7)

God is Taking Care of You

His ways are higher than ours! His creativity surpasses anything we could think! His solutions are far beyond our imagination! Dream BIG and He dreams BIGGER! Ask for much and He gives more! That was, is, and forever will be our Heavenly Father!

Now go out and be everything that God wants you to be. It will be far greater than anything you can imagine because we serve an amazing God who created the entire universe! AND HE SAYS you are a talented, creative, gifted, loving person with a very special purpose that HE WILL MAKE HAPPEN!

Are You Salty?

popcornHow do people react around you? When you walk into work, a store, or a gathering…do people gravitate towards you or do you feel like you’re being avoided?

Many “Christians” have a difficult time socializing with others; especially non-believers. They have a difficult time engaging people of the world and they never feel like they fit in. Some people may have tattoos, some people may use profanity, some people may look different, some people just don’t want to hear about God. So, how are you to remain salty in a dark world?

When we can engage people on their own terms, they’ll feel kindness. When we can accept them for who they are, they’ll feel like you aren’t judging them. The best thing you can do is just be kind to everyone that crosses your path. We were all sinners once and someone accepted you just as you were. Jesus died for you. He didn’t judge you. He didn’t tell you to change before he would accept you. NO…all you had to do was accept Him and immediately you became part of His family.

Think about it this way…

When you eat popcorn, the salt makes you incredibly thirsty. When people come across your path, would they become thirsty for whatever it is you have? Are they seeing a kind, caring, loving, giving individual?

We are the salt of the Earth! But why?

“To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” (Acts 26:18)

Salt and light irritates darkness. Salt fights corruption. Salt is flavor. We don’t have to go around quoting the Bible. We don’t have to go around correcting people or being condescending. NO…We just need to engage people on their level. Talk with them. Make them feel special. That is how we can be an influence without having a “Holier than Thou” attitude.

You may be the only “Bible” people see or read. They will watch your actions. They will watch what you say or do under pressure. They will watch how you react towards someone different than you. Just be authentic and real, in everyday situations. Engage all the different people as if they are your long lost relative that you are happy to see.

Before you know it, they will want to know your secret. They will want to know how you can be peaceful and content in the middle of your chaos. God will open the door for you to tell your testimony and touch their lives in a way they never experienced before.

Simply do what you say and say what you mean. Do things with a smile. Accomplish your tasks with a pep in your step and you will begin to see your saltiness shine through! God’s grace will overcome the darkness, pain, and suffering of that individual, but you will need to just love them right where they are!

So…SMILE AND BE SALTY TODAY! You never know who God will bring across your path so that they can see HIS AMAZING LOVE FLOW THROUGH YOU!
