Giving Thanks

This year has been full of storm devastation, high crimes, political upheavals, and economic chaos. Many people are reeling from the uncertainly and the unknown.

With all of the terrible situations we’ve seen, whether on the news or experienced within our own lives; I would like to ask everyone to take a moment and find something to be grateful to God for. No matter what you’re experiencing, God is still in control. We may not understand all the “Whys” or “How Comes”, but we can still hold onto the hope that it will turn out for our good. (Romans 8:28)

God has the answers and His ways are far beyond ours. We should all be thankful that He will provide, heal, restore, strengthen, and guide our steps; because His word says so.

Every day is filled with opportunity.  It can be filled with anger and depression or it can be filled with love and laughter.  We all have a choice to make every time we wake up in the morning. Make a commitment today to serve the Lord and continuously be thankful in all things.  He promises not to let you down.

A Unique Time Such As This

Baseball PitcherAs I was preparing for our weekly topic, God decided to throw a curve-ball at me.  As usual, I was planning on writing a completely different topic when God placed something else upon my heart.  This week, He wanted us to remember the very unique time we are living in and why it is so important for us to hold on tightly.

Currently, we are in between Passover and Pentecost.  It was during this time, the disciples were filled with heavy hearts, disappointments, sadness, and doubt.  All hope seemed to be lost and the future was very uncertain for the disciples.

However, it was on this glorious day of Pentecost, that the Holy Spirit came upon them in the most amazing way.  Just when they thought all hope was gone and they had no clue of what to do next; the Holy Spirit filled the room and their lives were changed forever. (Acts 2:1-13)

Similarly, we find ourselves in the same, unique predicament.  We have stood in faith.  Proclaimed His healing.  Believed in His word.  And nothing but adversity has come upon us.  The devil has been going out of his way to make us change course.  The devil knows that we are coming into God’s appointed time and he is trying to do everything in his power for it not to happen.  He wants you to get discouraged and give up.

I truly believe that the Spirit is getting ready for a major awakening, designed by God Himself.  The time has come for us believers to be overwhelmed with God’s goodness; thrusting us into our destinies.  We are not talking about a little trickle here.  God knows that it takes time, money, skills, opportunities, peace, health, and power to accomplish His calling.

Our God is not a God of just get by.  He is a God of more than enough.  There is absolutely no question that we are about to see God release the most amazing favor we have ever encountered.  He knows exactly what we need and how to accomplish it.  He wants us so blessed, that it makes people wonder what is going on; giving us the opportunity to use our incredible testimony to glorify God and His mighty power.

So, whatever you do…KEEP PUSHING…KEEP BELIEVING!

God is about to make all your dreams come true!

Shout for Joy

Shout for JoyAre you shouting for joy?  Is your excitement growing? Can you feel the amazing love flowing towards you? Heck…I’m jumping out of my chair right now!

This is one of the most exciting, wonderful, beautiful, and amazing weeks of the year!  Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter, whooo hooooo!  It is an incredible reminder to all of us, born again believers, that JESUS WAS VICTORIOUS!

Jesus shed His blood, gave His life, and redeemed us all. He took the pain and suffering upon Himself so that we could live a life filled with happiness, peace, joy and abundance.  When Jesus said, “IT IS FINISHED”, He meant it. And now, He sits at the right-hand of our Father; helping us every step of the way.  Praise the Lord, Hallelujah!

So, what does this mean for you?  Well, let’s break it down a bit, shall we?

Every trickle of Jesus’ blood that was shed; conquered sickness, disease, poverty, addictions, death and all the curses of sin.  So, no matter what you face today…JESUS CONQUERED!  You don’t have to live with anything less than God’s best!

  • When you find yourself unemployed…PLEAD THE BLOOD!
  • When your business is failing…PLEAD THE BLOOD!
  • When you’re battling sickness or disease…PLEAD THE BLOOD!
  • When your funds are low and poverty sets in…PLEAD THE BLOOD!
  • When someone is speaking negatively about you…PLEAD THE BLOOD!
  • When your children are heading down the wrong path…PLEAD THE BLOOD!
  • When you are battling an addiction…PLEAD THE BLOOD!

You already have victory because NO weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17)!  It doesn’t matter what you see with your eyes, it is not your reality!  Jesus came to give us life, and life more abundantly. (John 10:10)

So, RISE ABOVE ALL ILLUSIONS OF PROBLEMS and CLAIM THE SPIRITUAL TRUTH that all things are made perfect through Christ.  You are successful in all that you do!  You have more than enough to spare and share!  You are complete and whole!  You are a joint heir with Christ and have all that He has! Miraculous solutions are heading your way today!  You are VICTORIOUS in the name of Jesus!  Praise the Lord!  Shout for joy!  This is a new day and we are blessed!

Happy 2 know Jesus

Good Riddance 2012

Heart BreakingIf you are like most, 2012 was a very difficult year.  Almost everyone I know, including myself, went through some type of calamity.  Everything from loss of finances, soured friendships to strokes and diseases.  It seemed to be a year where no matter who you are, you were touched one way or another.

So as we say “Good Riddance to 2012” and ring in the new year, I thought it was appropriate to put the main thing as the main thing and help all of us get back on solid footing.

In Matthew 6:33-34, we are told But seek first of all His kingdom and His righteousness and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.  So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own.  Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.”

In a nutshell, the most important thing we can do as we begin this new year, is place God first in our lives. It can be so easy to say but much harder to do when life pulls you in many directions.  We start making our New Year’s resolutions and our Task Lists of all the things we wish to accomplish in this upcoming year.  Then, frustration breaks forth into our lives; and nothing seems to go right because we find our priorities must change with each passing day.

However, the key here is that God gives us enough grace for one day at a time.  It helps us to focus on the “here and now” while also helping us to avoid fatigue and burnout.  When we meet each day’s challenges as they come and not to borrow troubles from tomorrow, then, God’s grace will be enough for us to overcome what we face. Now don’t misunderstand what I am saying here…there is absolutely nothing wrong with having goals and striving to become better.  We just need to keep it all into the proper perspective.

PurchasesTake a look around you, you’ll see a huge emphasis on commerce and material things.  People tend to pursue and crave all the material things, thinking that it will give them joy.  However, what they quickly notice is that no matter what they felt they needed; it always leaves an emptiness in the end.

The best thing we can do is put God first and foremost in all that we do.  This will help us begin each day thanking Him, loving Him and praying to Him.  By doing this simple task, even if it’s only for a minute, then we place Him first in our lives and all things will work out for our good.  It helps us keep our priorities straight.

Then we begin to learn how to seek God’s “presence” and not His “presents”.  God knows we need things in our lives.  But, when you seek His handouts instead of loving Him for who He is, you will quickly find the very things you are needing are withheld.  That’s because He withholds them until we desire Him more than anything else.  That is the tricky part.  We all start with good intentions but then we start to fall into the trap of seeking God for things instead of who He is.

Let’s put this into perspective to make it a bit easier.  If you have family and friends that only are interested in what you can do for them; that doesn’t make you feel so good, does it?  No, we want people around us who love and care for us.  They don’t try to change you, they accept you for you.  Well…that’s the same with God.  He wants us to know Him for who He is, not for what He can do for us.

So let’s begin this new year taking time for God each morning.  Ask Him to help you put first things first. For when you do, God will be happy that you are seeking Him first and His loving “presence”; above all else.  Then, you will begin to notice some amazing things happen within your life and 2013 will quickly become the best year you have ever encountered.  Let’s make a pack today…REFRESH…RENEW…RE-FOCUS!

To You with Love - Jesus
