Patience Grasshopper

Have you ever found yourself wanting something to happen right now, but it seems to take longer than expected?

Well, I sure have. We live in a world of instant gratification. Just take a quick look around and you’ll see fast food restaurants, drive-thru pharmacies, quick remedies for weight loss and the “quick draw McGraw” of news…the internet. Isn’t it amazing how addicted we are to instant things? It really becomes prevalent when you have to wait in a checkout line at the grocery store and you realize just how impatient you are to get out of there; even if you don’t have anywhere else to go.

When time is of the essence and you have absolutely no understanding of what is happening; the most important thing you can do is have PATIENCE! It is certainly one of the hardest lessons to learn. Yet, it is one of the most crucial in your daily walk with God.

Here’s why…In James 1:2-4, God is very specific why we must learn patience.

“Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.  Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.  But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfectly and fully developed, lacking in nothing.”

In other words, God is telling us that we should rejoice in difficult situations, knowing that God tests our faith to bring out patience. During trials, all kinds of junk are brought to the surface. Things like anger, rebellion, self-pity, complaining and pride. It is so important to deal with this stuff so that God can take us to the next level.

So, let’s put it in a step-by-step process:

  1. Trials come and we face all the “icky” stuff
  2. This in turns helps us develop Patience
  3. Patience helps us develop Endurance
  4. Endurance creates a mature character
  5. A mature character brings us to absolutely nothing lacking within our lives.

Let’s face it…most of us have absolutely no clue what God is up to when He calls us. But one thing for certain is that He knows the end from the beginning. Ecclesiastes 7:8 reminds us, “Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patience in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.” And Galatians 6:9 tells us, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

So, I don’t know about you but the ending sure sounds better than the beginning. It doesn’t matter how long we have to wait, it is far more rewarding to wait on the Lord’s timing because His timing is perfect and the outcome will exceed all of our expectations.

Grab Hold Of Your Future

Let Go (2014_03_10 01_21_18 UTC)Life has a funny way of constantly reminding you of the things you’ve done wrong. You can be in the middle of a fantastic day, when out of nowhere, a reminder of your past comes along. As soon as it pops into your head, you have a choice to make. You can either mull it over and relive it, or you can ask for God’s forgiveness and release it to Him.

No matter who you are, where you came from, or what you’ve done…IT DOES NOT DEFINE YOU NOW! Your past is just that…your past. When you repented and accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, your past no longer exists and He sees your sins no more. (Hebrews 10:17) You don’t have to live in shame, guilt, anger, or regret. Thanks to Jesus’s finished work, you are a new creature in Christ and only the best days are ahead of you.

So the next time a little reminder comes along, stop it in its path. Release whatever it is to God and let Jesus’ rest come upon you. He will never leave you, nor forsake you. Let Him fill you with unspeakable peace that only He can provide. Accept His loving mercy and kindness today.

REPEAT AFTER ME:

Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me so much. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and making me a new creature. Today, I release all of my past hurts, anger, guilt, shame, and pain. Fill me with your amazing peace as I begin to step forward into the incredible life you have for me. Today, I will walk boldly and confidently knowing that my past is forgiven. Thank you for your mercy, grace, love and kindness. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray. Amen.

Now…THANK GOD FOR HIS GOODNESS AND GO HAVE A TREMENDOUS DAY!

Be Thankful (2014_03_10 01_21_18 UTC)

Different Looking Miracles

Rest In Peace

This week we lost someone very dear to us. My mom, Mary Graf was the catapult of this website and was the Editor of all the books written. She was the bright light upon the hill. And though we are saddened of her passing, we wish to Thank God for the gift of Mary Graf in our lives. Her love was contagious, her smile brightened a room and she always went the extra mile for all those she met. You could count on her to always have a hug waiting for anyone in need.

Even though we were praying for a much different outcome like a supernatural healing against the cancer plaguing her…God had a different miracle in mind. She has now been released from all the pain and suffering that the cancer caused. She no longer has the stress or worries of this world. She fought the good fight of faith and is now playing in Heaven with all the other angels that have gone before us.

Matthew 5:4 – Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Mom, your love will always remain and we THANK YOU for the incredible memories we shared. You were truly a one-of-a kind woman. Your courage, your strength, your love, your joy will be carried on. Your passion and drive encouraged everyone around you. You were not afraid to address any issue head on. The life lessons you taught will live in us and we too will carry the torch you were so readily, willing and able to start.

May you enjoy your new journey with our Heavenly Father. You will be sorely missed but forever remembered. As we shared in the last moments into your new journey…we’ll see you when we see you and we thank you for the impact you made upon our lives.

Isaiah 40:31 – But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

You are now soaring like an eagle mom and you will walk and not faint. We look forward to seeing you again but know that you are watching over us every moment of every day. Thank you for being who God meant you to be. You were the most courageous and loving person we could have ever met! God Speed mom. You can now rest in peace as your mission on Earth has been completed in such grace!

Your Loving Daughter Forever,
Phyliss

Just a small sampling of the thousands of memories…

You Are Protected

God will make a wayWith so many threats of evilness surrounding us today, it is very easy to get caught up in the “what ifs” of fear. Just flipping through television channels or the internet can scare the wits out of you. Nothing but panic can settle in your mind when you see reports of bombings, shootings and all of the unrest throughout the world. It’s no wonder why people are sick from the stress, pain, and fear of it all.

But, did you know that the greatest army of all time defends and protects you constantly? When you accepted Jesus, angels from Heaven began to watch over you. You were given an entire legion of protection.

Psalm 91:11: For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

Luke 22:43: And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.

God has given His angels charge over you. Every time you speak words of faith, God hears and the angels are released to move on your behalf. Throughout the Bible, we are told about angels providing guidance, strengthening, encouraging, answering prayers, and caring for those who believe.

That’s why it’s so important to speak encouraging words about your own situation. You either open the door for God and His angels to help or you open the door for the enemy. That’s why we are told that the power of life and death are in the tongue. (Proverbs 18:21) It is imperative that no matter what you face, speak God’s word and His promises over the situation. It truly doesn’t matter what you see or feel…what matters is God’s word that will move mountains on your behalf.

Legions of Angels

Don’t miss another moment to see things through God’s eyes. Every time you find yourself in a difficult situation, find scripture that directly reflects towards the issue you are facing. Speak it over and over into your life. God will see that an angel is dispatched on your behalf.

You are always protected. Listen to the small voice within and never forget that you might entertain a stranger that just might be an angel that was sent from Heaven. (Hebrews 13:2)
