The Ultimate Recourse

FaithLast night, I received a call from my best friend. There were three of us on the call, as the past few months have been very difficult for her. The new bosses have been stepping all over people, talking down to them, giving unrealistic goals, and seem to get a real kick out of making people cry. The more she talked about how she was being mistreated at work, the more I found myself filled with anger.  So, as we continued to listen, I found myself getting angrier by the minute.

I can tell you that my thoughts were not kind. I was so angry on her behalf, I wanted to take her to the office, pack up her desk, and give these bosses a piece of my mind. I was ready to take them on with every physical and speaking ability I possess.

Needless to say, when we ended the phone conversation, I was fit to be tied. I kept saying over and over, it’s not fair…they have no right…how dare they treat people like this. And of course, as I kept mulling it over in my mind, speaking these words, the worse I was feeling. I started pacing the room, hands flying in the air, speaking very unbecoming words as the anger started taking control. After a few minutes, I was fuming. The more I thought about it, the worse I felt. Anger spewing, thoughts of revenge and plots started forming, and nothing I thought was ever going to help the situation.

Then of course, reality came flooding back in. I started remembering Matthew 5:44 “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” So, I grabbed my Bible and started reading Psalm 37. I love the Psalms. They are jam packed with wisdom and knowledge. Well, as I started to read, Psalm 37:7-9 “Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him; fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger and forsake wrath; fret not yourself – it tends only to evildoing. For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait and hope and look for the Lord [in the end] shall inherit the earth.”

God hears you

After coming back to reality and reading God’s wisdom, I asked a family member to pray with me. We asked God to give our friend the strength she needs to stand through this trial, the peace to endure, and the wisdom she needs to overcome. Then, we started to pray for her enemies; that God’s wisdom will come into their hearts, that He will fill them with peace, and that their ways will turn towards the Lord’s. As we continued our prayer, we surrendered the situation to Him; declaring that He knows what’s best and will make sure that our friend comes out better, stronger, with much reward for her endurance.

As soon as we finished praying, we were both full of peace. We instantly knew that God had it under control and knew exactly what needed to happen, along with the perfect timing to make it happen. So, the next time you find yourself in a similar situation, PRAY FOR YOUR ENEMIES! It is truly the ultimate recourse. For when God is on your side, everything is going to work out for your good. Your enemies won’t stand a chance against Almighty God. He is the Alpha and Omega; knowing the end from the beginning. And, there isn’t anything He won’t do for His beloved children.

Starting Out Right

As we begin the new year, I thought it was very important to be reminded of HOW AWESOME GOD IS! Without Him, we would be nothing. Without Him, there would be no hope. Without Him, we would not receive healing or restoration. So, let’s start this year out right and remember the significance of the CROSS. By placing Him first in our lives, everything else will be added!

2014 is GOING TO BE THE BEST YEAR YET!

Never Too Late

LiftedIf you’re like most, we tend to wait until we are in the deepest, darkest pits of our lives before we cry out to God. It’s in these moments that we have exhausted all our efforts and don’t see a way out. Whether it’s years of pain and suffering that has brought us to this place or an unforeseen tragedy; we all go through difficulties within our lives that can take the very breathe from us; leaving us feeling desperate and alone.

It is in times like these that we need to reassess our lives. We may not understand why things happen or what we could have possibly done to deserve the terrible experience, but we all seek the answers that are not always readily available. We all face an unseen adversary. It’s not that we deserve anything bad to happen nor have we’ve done anything to deserve it; it is simply the adversary trying to keep you in a deep, dark pit and overwhelmed. The adversary wants to keep you exactly where you are, feeling low and in despair.

When we find ourselves in these moments, the absolute best thing we could do is cry out to God for help. He wants to heal our pain and suffering. He wants to prosper us. He wants to restore the time lost. He wants to restore failed relationships. He wants to restore all the lost opportunities.

God is an all-seeing, all-knowing Father who has the answer to all of our problems. Don’t waste another moment by allowing the adversary to keep you down and out. Speak up and let your voice be heard by the one and only Creator, who wants to heal you completely; physically, mentally, spiritually, financially, and make you whole while filling you with such incredible peace in the midst of your storm. So, don’t waste another moment. Cry out to God for your healing and restoration. It’s never too late because He’s waiting to hear from you, His beloved child. Cry out and watch His amazing, incredible, and miraculous solutions come upon you. For you are never alone, He promises to always be there.

No Matter What, God is There

God will supplyWhen you find yourself going through a crisis or a loss of some sort, how do you react?  Are you filled with pain and anger? Do you find yourself filled with stress and anxiety? Or do you find yourself wondering why God would allow this to happen to you?

From personal experience, my answer was all of the above and then some.  When I started to lose everything in the recession, I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs. I felt all alone.  The weight of the world upon my shoulders was far more than I could handle.

As I cried out to God, and quite frankly, in not so nice terms; I realized that He had been there all along. No matter how much I struggled, He gave me the strength I needed to get through the day. When I cried, He wrapped His arms around me. As I looked around me and saw nothing good happening, He was protecting me.  Throughout all the pain and suffering, He walked with me in the midst of it all.  It wasn’t until I went through all the intense feelings of loss that I started to see what I had been missing all along.

As I continued through the process of having to move, seeing my home and car repossessed, and feeling like a huge failure; I started to get a glimpse of what really mattered.  My friends surrounded me. My family opened their home to me. God called me into service.  It was through my darkest hours, God shined the brightest.

We may not understand the “WHY” of it all.  But, I can tell you from my intense journey, that God loves us very much.

FaithNo matter what you find yourself going through today, see the amazing goodness that comes from your darkest hour. It could be something as small as a hot cup of coffee, a hug, a helping hand, or being called into God’s service; there will be things that you can be grateful for.  Just imagine how grateful you will be when God starts restoring your life in a much bigger way.

God has an amazing life planned out for you and it will come to pass when you least expect it.  He is there in the midst of your storm and knows how to help you along the way.

Embrace His goodness.  Embrace His love.  Embrace His healing.  Embrace everything that He has for you.  Because it will be far greater than any loss you might be experiencing.  He loves you and your future is very bright!
