What Did Jesus Do?

Last week we spoke about God’s anointing and how restoration could be as quick as a blink of the eye. I would like to take it a bit further this week because it’s so imperative that we understand what we should be preparing for in the big scheme of things.

According to John 14:12-14, we’re told that we will do even greater things than the works Jesus did.

John 14:12-14 “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

That’s a tall order! Think about what Jesus really did. He healed the blind, healed the lame, raised the dead, turned water to wine, healed diseases, turned 5 loaves and a few fish into food for thousands, He cast out demons and performed miracles. He was compassionate, sympathetic, caring and loving. He touched the down casts of society that the “religious” people of the day wouldn’t go near.

In today’s society you see so many preachers and prophets getting up in front of TV cameras or stadiums telling people if you give $149 today then God will make so and so 1:49 scripture come true in your life. Sorry for saying this but that’s hogwash! Jesus didn’t go about asking people to give in order to receive His healing or blessings. He simply asked them to believe in Him and that He was willing to heal them.

Mark 1:40-42 “A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus was indignant. He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.”

It’s so imperative we understand this concept. We’ve been told for so long to give in order to receive. Now don’t get me wrong…God does guide us to give and wants us to be cheerful givers. However, he will guide us to whom and how much. But it doesn’t always have to be money. He may tell you to give away clothing, time or some other gift you may possess. The purpose of giving is to show God that we are willing to let go of what He provides and not be hoarders for “self” purposes; showing He can trust us with greater things.

However when it comes to the healing power of Jesus, that comes from Heaven itself through the anointed hand of God. God doesn’t want anyone to perish and He’s always willing to accept people into His kingdom before it’s too late.

People are hurting and feeling lost. The more society creates “social apps” the more unloved and disconnected people are feeling. They are seeking truth, acceptance, compassion and real love.

God wants us to perform greater things than Jesus did and win souls for the kingdom. Let’s be honest…it’s going to take supernatural miracles to jar people into questioning how the miracles took place and truly open their eyes to know God is real! That in turn will open dialogue between believers and the lost.

No matter what your profession is or where you live, God can use any believer, any where to accomplish His mighty acts. We must be prepared to love unconditionally without judgement. For those who God brings in our path may not look or act like us, but we need to have open arms to save those who have endured various pains, sufferings and loss. It will be by His anointing that we will make the difference.

Will you be ready for the Mighty Hand of God to bring a fresh anointing upon you? In a blink of an eye, God can use you in a mighty way if you will let Him. May your journey bring much love, joy and peace for His Glory!!!
