Just Imagine

WildernessCan you imagine the splendor that surrounds you everyday? The stars. The mountains. The oceans and rivers. The magnitude of plants and animals. Millions of species that we don’t even know the names of. It is absolutely breathtaking when you stop to think about it. But what about people? There are billions of people in this world and most of them go about their day, just hoping to get by. They settle for much less and hope for the rest.

Well, did you know that the Bible tells us that God knew and approved of you before you were even born? (Jeremiah 1:5) He had a specific plan created just for you. There is no one like you. There is no one with the special talents God gave you. No one has the same plan. You were magnificently designed by the Creator of the Universe. How AWESOME is that?

Let that sink in for a moment. No matter where you came from. No matter who your parents were. No matter what neighborhood you lived in. No matter where you went to school. No matter what you have encountered so far in your life…none of it determines your destination. God has the most incredible future in store for you. If you need a job, God wants you to have a better job with many more benefits than you can imagine. If you need a place to live, God doesn’t want just a roof over your head, He wants the best home for you that you can be proud of. If your finances have dried up, God doesn’t just want you to get by…He wants you to have more than enough so you can be a blessing to others. If you need healing, God doesn’t just want you to be healed in a specific area…He wants you completely whole and well! That’s the incredible God we serve!

No matter what we can think or imagine…God wants us to have even more. No matter what we face…God already knew that we would face it and He already has the solution. God knows every hair on your head and you God is Taking Care of Youare more valuable to Him than a whole flock of sparrows. There’s no need to be afraid or worried! (Luke 12:7)

So, the next time you look in the mirror and don’t like what you see…remind yourself of how special and beautiful you really are. You are a talented, creative, and loving person with a very special purpose.

His ways are higher than ours! His creativity surpasses anything we could think! His solutions are far beyond our imagination! Dream BIG and He dreams BIGGER! Ask for much and He gives more! That was, is, and forever will be our Heavenly Father! Now go out and be everything that God wants you to be. It will be far greater than anything you can imagine because we serve an amazing God who created the entire universe.

Bye Bye Frustration

Never aloneIn a world of instant gratification, we all want things NOW. Fast Food, drive-thru ATM machines, swiping credit cards, microwaveable meals; all designed to give us things quickly.

But what happens when you have to stand in a line at the supermarket, wait in a traffic jam, hurry up to wait? Do you feel yourself get frustrated? Do you sense anger? Do you find yourself agitated? Do you find yourself tapping your fingers? You know when you push the coffee button and you find yourself tapping your fingers on the counter top, saying; “Come on already!”

I bet you can see yourself when you read those questions. So, what should we do when we find ourselves in these situations?

We are given a tremendous illustration in John 11:3-7.

3 So the sisters sent to him, saying, “Lord, he whom you love is ill.”
4 But when Jesus heard it he said, “This illness is not unto death; it is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by means of it.”
5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Laz’arus.
6 So when he heard that he was ill, he stayed two days longer in the place where he was.
7 Then after this he said to the disciples, “Let us go into Judea again.”

Jesus was told that Lazarus was sick. Instead of rushing to his side, Jesus stayed where He was for two more days. In the same passage, we are told that Jesus loved Martha, her sister, and Lazarus. What can be derived from all of this?

When things are delayed or don’t happen when we want them; we tend to get frustrated, depressed, or angered. A lot of times, we find ourselves wishing and praying for our break through, healing, restoration; only to find the answer not forthcoming. What we need to realize is that God doesn’t work on our time frame. He knows the exact time, the exact way, and the perfect solution. In the passage mentioned, Jesus let us know that we are loved. He let us know that He had the answer. He let us know that the reason for the delay was to honor God and to promote His glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.

So, the next time you find yourself waiting for God’s intervention, help, healing power, or answer… BREATHE DEEPLY, RELAX, and say BYE BYE to the frustration. Don’t see a delay as a set back…see the delay as a set up! KNOW THAT HE WILL PROVIDE YOU with what you need, at the exact moment you need it. God just might be using the situation to give you a better revelation in Him; so that when it does happen, there will be absolutely no question that HE did it! You will become an even greater testimony with your incredible story of God’s awesome power!

Miracles DO Happen

Broken HeartThis past week, I unexpectedly found myself in the emergency room with my mom having excruciating abdominal pain. She was whisked from one room to another; being poked, prodded, and pierced with every possible test being conducted. The next thing I knew, she was being admitted into the hospital; hooked up to monitoring systems and the like. Having no idea what was happening, I was overcome with fear, sadness, and pure helplessness. Never did I expect things were going to go downhill from there. It seemed like the bad news just wouldn’t stop coming. She was diagnosed with colon cancer and major surgery was going to be scheduled right away. It felt like I just kept getting hit over the head, time and time again. My breath was taken from me with every doctor’s prognosis.

If that wasn’t enough, I had just agreed to some client’s deadlines and I was under contractual obligations. It just so happened that the deadlines was within this week. So, I began feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and confused. There was absolutely no way that I could meet the deadlines and be at the hospital at the same time. It was simply impossible.

As you can imagine, there was no question in my mind that my mom comes first. I spent hours at the hospital to be with her. The more I stayed, the more worried I became. I didn’t know if I was coming, going, or even what day it was.

The final room she was taken to, just so happened to be near the hospital chapel. Coincidence, I think not. Every time I went anywhere in the hospital, I had to pass the chapel. It quickly became my safe haven. The more time I spent in the chapel, crying out to God, the more I felt peaceful, contented, and just knew that everything was going to be alright. At first, I kept praying that God would touch her with His miraculous healing power and all tests would come back with the cancer being gone. But then I realized…maybe that’s not the right answer. Maybe God is using these procedures for saving her from something else. Maybe God has a bigger picture that I just can’t see. So, I started to pray for His will and surrendered it all to Him; asking for God to have His way in all of this mess.

Then, the little miracles started to happen. Mom didn’t want a particular test to be done. She had always heard bad things about this test and refused to have it done. A friend of mine had seen my prayer request on Facebook. She responded with her prayers but she took it one step further. She asked for Archangel Michael to surround mom with His healing power. It was like out of nowhere, Nurse Michael and Nurse Joann came into our lives. They were full of compassion, love, and kindness. They understood mom’s fear and gently guided her to understanding. Both of them had the procedure done before and was able to explain it to mom in a way that the doctor’s could not. They spent alot of time with her, helping her understand the procedure where she was no longer afraid. The next thing I knew, she was agreeing to the procedure and the test results ended up saving her life.

My Best Friend, who is also like a daughter to my mom, stayed with me throughout the surgery. She let me cry, held my hand, walked the hospital with me, sat in the chapel, and just was the most comforting person in the world. All of this while she has a cast on her foot from her own surgery. As overwhelmed as I was, she kept me calm and helped me understand the fast and furious doctor’s reports, during and after, the surgery. It was like God knew I needed human comfort and sent her to me at the right time, the right place, and in the right way. She was my heavenly rock in human form.

Spending so much time at the hospital, everything else was put on the back burner. I simply didn’t have the stamina or the mind frame to complete any of my contractual obligations nor did I have time to try and take care of mom and dad’s household. I was sinking fast on every level. Then, Dad stepped up to the plate. Dad has always been the one to take care of the cars, plumbing, the grass and garden; all of the things that needed tending outdoors. But unbeknownst to me, dad started doing the laundry, cooking, going to the grocery store, and sitting down to have conversations with me. My dad has never been a man for showing emotions. If he picked on you, then you knew, he liked you. It’s just my dad’s way. But this past week, I saw God use him in the most amazing ways and a new-found respect for my father was formed.

As I write this posting, my mom is still recovering in the hospital. Somehow, someway, God stopped time for me to meet my client’s deadlines, in the midst of exhaustion. Dad is helping me in all the little ways that seem to Love Godmean so much, and I thank God for every moment of every day that He cared enough about my family to come rushing to the scene.

I may not have received the miracle of a miraculous healing for my mom. But, I did receive more miracles within a short period of time that leaves me thanking God that He helped me lean not on my understanding. His timing was perfect, His ways were perfect, and the miracles He sent were far greater than I was asking for. So, the next time you find yourself overwhelmed and confused…SURRENDER THEM TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER BECAUSE MIRACLES STILL DO HAPPEN AND THEY ARE FAR GREATER THAN YOU CAN EVER ASK!

Beyond Wishful Thinking

Trusting the wordHave you ever noticed when you hear a truth in God’s Word, all of a sudden things start going wrong and problems start flooding into your life? It’s like you hear a word on healing and you begin studying and proclaiming the word into your life when all hell starts to break lose. You or someone near you gets sicker than ever before and you just can’t understand why this is happening?

We have a very real adversary who is like a roaring lion, walking about, seeking whom he may devour. (I Peter 5:8) Don’t let him take you off the right path. Satan is going to throw everything he has at you. He needs to make you quit, give up, or begin doubting the revelation. He’ll tell you that it’s just wishful thinking and God doesn’t care. He knows that if he can make you stop, then he can stop God’s amazing truth from bringing the healing, provision, or whatever you seek from coming to pass.

Well guess what…I have GOOD NEWS for you today. The devil is a liar! Hold on and continue studying, proclaiming, and praising the Lord. Because then, the power of the Lord will be upon you. As Psalm 91:1-3 clearly explains: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of the lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust! For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.”

Don’t stop fighting the good fight of faith. Stand your ground. God’s power will be released!

For the battle is the Lord’s and the VICTORY is yours! God guarantees it!

The Battle is the Lord's
