People Pleasers

There are so many demands and peer pressure in our world today.  If I asked you, “Who are you?” would you answer with your job title?  Would you answer with the sport you play?  Would you answer the way your friends or family see you?  What would you say?

More time than not, you would answer this question quickly and with some sort of a title.  But do you really know who you are and what truly makes you happy?

I ask this question because there are way too many people trying to be something they are not.  They want to fit in with the crowd.  They want to look like someone else.  They want to be popular.  But, the problem with this is that most are unhappy deep within themselves.  I can tell you from experience that it never is all its cracked up to be nor can you please everyone.

As Christians, we tend to be “yes” people.  Yes, I’ll help you.  Yes, I’ll be there.  Yes, I can do that project.  And so on.  Unfortunately, most of us take on too many obligations which create pressure and stress within our own lives; losing the very essence of who we are.

When we try to please people around us, we tend to make them happy while making ourselves miserable.  The key here is to learn how to make ourselves happy first.  This is not selfish, by no means.  When we make ourselves happy and be who we really are, then that happiness overflows onto the people around us; creating a wonderful, loving environment that has more impact on others than just trying to fit in.

Let’s see what the Bible says about who we are:

  • We’re a child of the Most High God (John 1:12)
  • We are joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17)
  • We are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)
  • You’re a friend of Jesus Christ (John 15:15)
  • You have been chosen by God (Ephesians 1:4)
  • God looks at the heart of a man, not his outward appearance (Samuel 16:7)
  • The king greatly desires your beauty (Psalm 45:11)
  • You are a sweet aroma to God (2 Corinthians 2:15)

If God sees us as a beautiful child then don’t you think the best thing we can do is love ourselves in a meaningful, humble way.  I’m not talking about having an ego and thinking you’re all high and mighty.  What I’m talking about is, loving the person you are, loving yourself just as you are, and knowing that you are beautiful just the way you are.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t wear what everyone else is wearing or you’re not driving the best car or you don’t have the biggest home on the block…what matters is that you are happy from deep within your mind, body and soul.

There are always going to be naysayers or people who want you to be something you are not.  In Romans 12:12, we are specifically told “not to conform to this world…”  For when you are walking in God’s love and loving yourself, it will spill over onto others.  It will bring such peace and joy within your life; you’ll wonder why you haven’t done it before.  In Colossians 3:15 we are told to “be led by peace in making decisions”.  That is so much more important than doing things out of obligations.

Things don’t need to feel like a chore when you help someone.  If it comes from a deep passion within yourself, it will catapult the love you feel onto those around you.  This calm, stable and relaxing state of mind is the ultimate, rewarding experience.  People will notice the change.  People will realize that they too can enjoy life fully and will want to know how you do it.  That’s what it is all about…helping others from this standpoint of peace and leading by example.  It is more powerful than you realize.  Making a difference comes from the love inside of you; knowing who you truly are in Christ and allowing it to flow into others.  We all have received our very own special gifts and abilities (1 Peter 4:10) and we need to walk in these given talents.  It is a very rewarding experience.

SO…TODAY IS A NEW DAY!

EMBRACE YOURSELF!  For when you do, you will become an amazing person that will make a huge difference in the world around you.  For there is no better place to be than walking in your DIVINE DESTINY, being the person you are meant to be.  Believe it!  Live it!  There is no one else like you so stop trying to be like everyone else.

CELEBRATE YOUR UNIQUENESS…YOU ARE VERY SPECIAL!  YOU ARE ONE OF A KIND!

Healing Is So Much More

Unexpected BlessingsTo most people, the word “healing” tends to make them think about a physical pain, disease, or ailment. But did you know that in God’s eyes, healing is so much more than that. To God, healing is a complete transformation, complete restoration, complete wholeness. It is nothing missing and nothing broken. He wants you to be walking in perfect peace and joy, in every area of your life.

We are told in the Bible that all scripture is inspired by God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Right now, I’m sure you are asking…what does that have to do with anything? Well, if you are in need of something then the best thing you can do is find a scripture that relates to your need and start saying it over your life. There are two very important reasons for this…

  1. God’s word tells us “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
  2. Gods word will never return void. It will accomplish what it says. “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11)

So, what do you need healed today?

  • Illness…BY HIS WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED!
  • Finances…JESUS BECAME POOR SO THAT I MAY BECOME RICH!
  • Anger…GOD GAVE ME A SPIRIT OF PATIENCE WITH GREAT PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING!
  • Unforgiveness, I’M REDEEMED BY HIS BLOOD & HAVE HIS FORGIVENESS” SO I CAN FORGIVE OTHERS!
  • Guilt…HAPPY IS THE MAN WHO DOES NOT CONDEMN HIMSELF!
  • Weakness…THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH!
  • Failure…I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST!
  • Alone…HE IS CLOSER THAN A BROTHER. HE WILL NEVER LEAVE ME!
  • Danger…EVIL CAN’T GET CLOSE TO ME, HE ORDERED HIS ANGELS TO GUARD ME WHEREVER I GO!

No matter what you are facing today…GOD HAS THE ANSWER AND IS THE ANSWER! Don’t let another moment go by without receiving the complete restoration of what God wants for you.

Start speaking God’s words over your life, over your family, over your job, over your finances, over every area of your life. Because God can do more than you could ever think or ask. You have an amazing future ahead of you. Start speaking to it today!

Where’s the Money, Honey?

Have you noticed just how much the world revolves around money? Have you ever noticed that the more you think about money, the less you find yourself having in your pockets? Why is that?

Well, today, we are going to cover the whole MONEY issue; in a very plain and simple way.  So, let’s get started.

Like most Christians, we are taught to pray for our answers. We are taught seed, time and harvest. Now, don’t get me wrong…these are wonderful tools that God has given us and are discussed at great length throughout the Bible. We are definitely supposed to utilize these tools.

However, we tend to miss the most important lesson when we pray for financial abundance and breakthroughs. What most of us do when we pray is to tell God what we want and how to give it to us. So, when we don’t receive the exact answers we were looking for, we get discouraged and think God didn’t answer our prayers.

What we must realize is that money is not our answer. Yes, we have bills to pay or we have something in mind that we would like to buy. However, GOD KNOW WHAT’S BEST FOR US…WE DON’T!

The best way to describe it is that you can be a billionaire and have bad health. You can have all the money in the world and be depressed. You could have everything your heart desires and be full of anger, loneliness or sadness. Money can slip through your fingers so fast that it makes your head spin. Again, MONEY IS NOT THE ANSWER!  GOD IS!

What I’ve come to realize is that I don’t just want the money, Honey…I want the complete package (III John 2):

  • The wisdom and knowledge to use the funds properly.
  • The who, what, when and where to bless others.
  • How to invest correctly.
  • Happiness, Joy, Peace and everything in between.

See, God wants us whole; nothing missing and nothing broken. He doesn’t want us to just “get by“…He wants us to have “overflowing, pressed down and shaken together, more than enough”!

God wants to see you happy, healthy, prosperous, and filled with joy. Nothing would make Him happier than to see you loving life in every area.

So today, I ask you to let your requests be know to God. BUT…let God be God and provide you HIS way, in HIS timing, and in HIS supernatural perfection. For whatever HE BRINGS will have no pain or sorrow attached! Whatever HE BRINGS will be beyond anything you could have ever asked for, dreamed of, or even imagined.

We serve an AMAZING FATHER WHO LOVES YOU TOO MUCH JUST TO GIVE YOU A PIECE OF THE PIE! HE WANTS YOU TO HAVE THE WHOLE PACKAGE!

The “I CAN’T” Syndrome

Everyday people are tormenting themselves by thinking…

I Can’t change
I Can’t believe
I Can’t get over this sickness
I Can’t go on
I Can’t forgive
I Can’t pay my bills
I Can’t get a job and so on

What we must realize is that this mentality and attitude sets you up to fail, to quit, and to live a negative, defeated life. It is a very poisonous mindset that we must overcome in order to see victory within our lives.

The Bible has so many wonderful scriptures that deal with this mindset. When you start thinking “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13) or “You will give me victory over my enemies…“ (Psalm 44:7-8); you will begin to notice changes in your life.

The most important thing we can do, is stand firm in His word and have faith that he will change our circumstances. For in Ephesians 3:20 it says “He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above and beyond all we can ask or think“. So why in the world we would allow the dreaded “I Can’t” Syndrome rule in our lives? “I Can’t” should not be in our vocabulary. It doesn’t belong in our lives.

We serve a HUGE GOD and he wants us to have more than enough to spare and share. Why do you think one of God’s names in the Bible is El Shaddai?  It means more than enough! I don’t think that would be a coincidence, do you?

To overcome this negative mindset, the absolute best thing we could ever do is set our eyes on Him and speak words of victory. “For my God shall supply ALL my needs according to His riches.” (Philippians 4:19) God has you covered, no matter what the circumstance looks like.

You are VICTORIOUS and a CONQUEROR through Christ!

So, Stand Up and Shake It Off
