Your True Identity

So many of us look at the past and think that is who we are. Do you see yourself through the eyes of betrayal, hurt, rejection, mistakes and pain? If so, you will constantly strive for approval and perfection. That’s the world’s way, not Gods!

Your past does not define you. Wherever you grew up, whatever you did or whatever happened to you is the past and that’s where it needs to stay. Once you became a Child of the Most High, all of your sins and everything that happened in the past goes away. Your true identity lies in Jesus and who He is.

Now when you start seeing Jesus and all of His beautiful attributes, the devil is going to bring up everything in the past to try and make you feel guilty, shameful, hurt, angry and everything else he can try to persuade you that you aren’t worthy. But the devil is a liar!!!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come.” 2 Cor. 5:17

You are a new creature in Christ. His strength, power, love, kindness, freedom, holiness, and righteousness became you. You are a child of the Most High. The one and only true God! You are born again by the Holy Spirit (John 3:3-6). You are saved by grace as a gift, not because of your performance (Ephesians 2:8).

The right to your new life is a gift from God Almighty! You are the light of the world (Matt. 5:14), you will shine like stars in the sky (Philippians 2:15), you are the salt of the earth (Matt. 5:13), you are a vessel of God’s divine light (2Cor 4:6).

That is your identity. Jesus died to give us life and life more abundantly, to make us the head and not the tail, above and not below, to be more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Embrace the new you. You are royalty, an heir to the throne, and God’s loving arms are wrapped around you everywhere you go. You are an amazing person. Don’t look back, continuously look forward. God’s grace, love, power, strength, provision and healing power is upon you. Be the light in this dark world and remind the devil that he is a liar. You are special, loved and highly-favored by God Almighty.

Kicking the Habit

End of your ropeIf I asked everyone reading this message to raise their hand if they have ever tried to stop smoking, lose weight, or stop any other habit; how many of you would raise your hand? Now, how many of you would raise your hand if you tried everything possible to stop that habit, only to find yourself worse off than before?

My hand is still raised too. It’s only natural for us to try all the different products and programs on the market that is suppose to help us with kicking the habit. The only problem is that once we have tried everything and we have exhausted all of our efforts; we usually find ourselves going back to the very thing that we worked so hard to quit in the first place. Then we feel like a failure and we become so frustrated that we simply give up, thinking that it will never change.

But, I’m here to tell you there is one sure fire way to kick any habit that is creating havoc in your life and it will be the easiest thing you have ever done. Surrender!

“Are you so foolish and so senseless and so silly? Having begun [your new life spiritually] with the [Holy] Spirit, are you now reaching perfection [by dependence] on the flesh?” (Galatians 3:3)

What happens when YOU try to stop doing something on your own? You become focused on that issue. It becomes all about if I do this or if I do that. And before you know it, you’ve become consumed by the very thing you are trying to quit.

No matter what we try to do – no matter how strong your willpower – no matter how determined you are…things will not completely change unless you surrender it completely to God. Only your creator knows what is happening in your life. Only your creator knows if you have a thyroid problem, a vitamin deficiency, a health issue, or even a deeper pain that needs healing.

Without surrendering the habit to God, the Holy Spirit can not help or lead you to your specific solution. Nor would it be completely healed! Before we can enjoy any real victory, or experience any real change in our behavior, we must learn that only God can change us from the inside. Our focus needs to be on Him!

“Then does He Who supplies you with His marvelous [Holy] Spirit and works powerfully and miraculously among you do so on [the grounds of your doing] or because of your believing in and adhering to and trusting in and relying on Him?” (Galatians 3:5)

God restores health

So, what habit do you need to break? Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and help you overcome the habit. Get into the WORD and see what God says about your situation. Once you start focusing on HIM, that pesky ol’ habit will begin to fade and you may not even recognize that you’re being healed! That’s how AWESOME GOD is!

God wants you healed! He wants you successful! He wants you happy every moment of every day! Let Him take control and heal you from the inside out! You have a wonderful life ahead of you! Just keep your focus on Him and He promises to give you the best of the best! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Today is going to be a great day!

Jolt Yourself

big-teeth-smiley-emoticonWhen things aren’t going your way, then kindly (and gently) slap yourself to wake up and get your attitude back. Say what?!?!?!?!?

Well, I bet I got your attention didn’t I. LOL

Okay, Okay…all kidding aside. What I really mean is sometimes we just need to WAKE UP and JOLT OURSELVES out of the day to day slumber, the stagnation, the chaos and really start prophesying to our lives.

It’s time for new beginnings. You’ve gone through enough and the past is just that…the past! It’s time to get up, brush off and take back what’s been stolen! How do you do that, you might be asking? Great question!

Place yourself in front of a mirror and declare God’s word over your life. Say or yell (if you feel the need)…

  • I’m Going To Live and Not Die.
  • I’m going to share the good works of the Lord.
  • Today I choose Life and Life more abundantly.
  • It’s He who lives in me, is greater than he who is in this world.
  • I will have peace that surpasses all understanding.
  • I have more than enough to spare and share.
  • Today is my day for my turnaround.
  • Today is my day for complete restoration and healing.
  • Today I give my illnesses and addictions an eviction notice as they are trespassing on God’s territory.
  • Today, God is healing my broken heart and replacing sadness with unspeakable joy.
  • God is the Author and Finisher in my life. Whatever He started, He will accomplish through me.
  • I’m more than a conqueror.
  • For me and my house will serve the Lord. All of those lost shall come back to Him.
  • I’m blessed in the city and blessed in the field. God’s favor is exploding in my life.

It’s too easy to get placated in our lives and just continue going with the flow; becoming stagnant along the way. It’s time to jolt ourselves out of the “norm”. You are created for so much more! You are to be the light of the world! And the more you speak to your circumstances with God’s word, the more you’ll find situations turning around in your favor.

The question is…what do you want your year to look like? Do you want to keep going around the same mulberry bush and keep getting the same results…OR…would you rather let God be God and shower you with His amazing grace? Ask yourself…if not today, when? If not you, who? If God is going to bless someone, why not let it be you?

Why don’t you start each day doing things GOD’S WAY and let this year be the greatest year you’ve ever experienced. Talk yourself silly with God’s word. One small touch from God is all it takes! Will you dare to believe that Today is the beginning of your miraculous turnaround?

Yoke Breaking – Burden Removing

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. There is nothing too big or too small for Him to tackle on our behalfs. We might be experiencing difficulties within our own lives or feel some aches and pains within our bodies; however, if we can turn on focus and see Jesus in every situation…life will take on a whole new meaning and outcome because everything has already been defeated.

It is important to remind ourselves that Jesus is healthy, kind, humble, loving, forgiving, rich, truth, filled with wisdom and has more than enough. Let’s break it down and look at it in it’s simplest form…

  • Is Jesus plagued with cancer, diabetes, or any illness? NO! So as He is, so are we in this world!
  • Does Jesus have aches and pain in His body? NO! So as He is, so are we in this world!
  • Is Jesus weak or concerned? NO! So as He is, so are we in this world!
  • Is Jesus worried about paying bills or where the financing will come from?  NO! So as He is, so are we in this world!
  • Is Jesus just barely getting by in life? NO! So as He is, so are we in this world!
  • Does Jesus worry about what others think or say about Him? NO! So as He is, so are we in this world!
  • Is Jesus worried about what He looks like or have any image problems? NO! So as He is, so are we in this world!
  • Is Jesus worried about who the next President will be? NO! So as He is, so are we in this world!
  • Does Jesus fret over where His next meal will come from? NO! So as He is, so are we in this world!
  • Is Jesus barely making ends meet? NO! So as He is, so are we in this world!
  • Does Jesus worry about His past or worry about something He did? NO! So as He is, so are we in this world!

Jesus loves us completely. He is full of truth and wisdom; and that truth and wisdom lives within us. Jesus is our water-walker! He is our yoke-destroying, burden-removing love that overcame everything on our behalf. Don’t let another moment go by without seeing Jesus’ victory. For there is not one thing that can come against you that hasn’t already been defeated. Let go and let Jesus’ victory replace your situation. Speak His truth in your life for His word will not return void. Victory is yours today, tomorrow and forever! As He is, so are we in this world!
