What is love?

Well, if we look at the world’s way…love is conditional.  You do this, I’ll do that.  You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.  Most of us have looked for love in all the wrong places.  Just look at the reality shows on TV.  Sex before marriage is the norm. Heck, statistics show that young kids are having sex by the age of 12 and they know more than adults, in this capacity.  Look at the Porn industry.  It’s huge.  Quite simply, it is an addiction to lust, sex and one-night stands; which is killing the very essence of our families, our society.  This isn’t love!

One of the most important things we need to realize is that the lack or void we feel can not be filled by things or people.  Nothing external can fill the void that is deep within yourself.  Most people think that if they find a mate, life would be perfect.  Or they think, if only I had more money, I would feel happier. Nothing could be further from the truth.  For we can not expect someone or something to make us happy. If we are unhappy within ourselves, then how could they possibly make us happy.  It just isn’t possible and we are setting them and ourselves up for failure.

Let’s take a cat or dog, for an example.  Say you have been gone all day long and you finally make it home.  You open the door to find that loving pet; excited to see you.  Whether they are jumping up and down or jumping into your lap, they trusted you to come home and they are excited to show you how much they love you.  It is completely unconditional.  They are just happy to see you.

Well, that is how God loves us.  We can’t earn God’s love nor do we deserve it.  He simply loves us!  It is unconditional. (Ephesians 3:14-19)  He doesn’t care if we are short, tall, overweight, skinny or have pimples; He loves us RIGHT NOW, NO MATTER WHAT!

See, when we start realizing God’s love for us, we can then start feeling love for ourselves.  This in turn, fills the void deep within.  I’m not talking about an egotistical love for ourselves, thinking that you are better than anyone else.  What I’m talking about is having a deep love rooted for God, through God and into our own heart.

When we start experiencing this type of love, then and only then, can we begin showing love for others. This kind of love doesn’t depend on if the person deserves our love or not, we simply realize that God loves us and He loves them.  Nothing can take God’s love from you! (Romans 8:37-39)  THIS IS TRUE LOVE!

So, EMBRACE YOURSELF!  Look in the mirror and say “I AM BEAUTIFUL, GOD LOVES ME”.  Repeat!  “I AM BEAUTIFUL, GOD LOVES ME”.    For when you really begin to feel God’s love for you, it will begin to create the most incredible, amazing, loving relationships that we all desperately crave!

The Long Rocky Road of Barrenness

Many times in life, we feel like we are going nowhere.  We’re at a standstill and nothing seems to be happening.  Unsure of any direction and simply put, hope begins to fade.  In times like this, we need to be reminded that the barrenness we feel is only temporary and God’s answers will break through.

We are reminded of this very thing, in Genesis.  God promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations.  Yet, Abraham did not know the “when”, he just knew that God made him a promise.

Now, during the course of Abraham’s story, you begin to realize that a lot of time passed by with nothing happening.  You could easily say that Abraham found himself on a long, rocky road of barrenness.  He had no clue of the “how” and “when” this promise was supposed to happen.  In fact, so many years went by, we see Abraham and Sarah deciding to take matters into their own hands.  Thinking God needed help to make their promise come true.  Unfortunately, we also see that unnecessary strife was the outcome of their decision.  However, even though they made a mistake, God still came through for them.  The most amazing part was that Abraham and Sarah were far beyond child-rearing days and yet, Sarah gave birth to a child.  Just like God said would happen.

See, it doesn’t matter how long or how rocky our barrenness takes.  What matters is God has given us over 7,000 promises throughout scripture.  He knows exactly what we are going through and how to resolve the issues we face.  God knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10) and certainly doesn’t need our help along the way.  He knows the answer and the perfect timing to make it all happen.

So, when you find yourself on that long rocky road, waiting for something to happen; remind yourself of God’s promises.  Because even if you lose hope, hope remains.  Even if you feel like you are losing faith, a mustard seed of faith will do (Matthew 17:20).  I don’t know about you but I love surprises.  And, GOD IS FULL OF SURPRISES!

In His perfect timing, He will transform your barrenness into something absolutely amazing!  So, HOLD ON!  Everyday is a new day and something AWESOME could happen to you in a blink of an eye!

The “I CAN’T” Syndrome

Everyday people are tormenting themselves by thinking:

I Can’t change
I Can’t believe
I Can’t get over this sickness
I Can’t go on
I Can’t forgive
I Can’t pay my bills
I Can’t get a job and so on.

What we must realize is that this mentality and attitude sets you up to fail, to quit, and to live a negative, defeated life.  It is a very poisonous mindset that we must overcome in order to see victory within our lives.

The Bible has so many wonderful scriptures that deal with this mindset.  When you start thinking “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13) or Oh Lord my God, I cried to You and You healed me.” (Psalm 30:2); you will begin to notice changes in your life.

The most important thing we can do, is stand firm in His word and have faith that he will change our circumstances.  For in Ephesians 3:20 it says “He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above and beyond all we can ask or think“, so why in the world we would allow the dreaded “I Can’t” Syndrome rule in our lives.  “I Can’t” should not be in our vocabulary.

We serve a BIG GOD and he wants us to have more than enough to spare and share.  Why do you think one of God’s names in the Bible is El Shaddai?  It means more than enough!  I don’t think that would be coincidental, do you?

The best thing we can do to over come this negative mindset is set our eyes above.  “For my God shall supply ALL your needs according to His riches.” (Philippians 4:19)  There is absolutely no question that God has you covered, no matter what the circumstance looks like.  We are VICTORIOUS and CONQUERORS through Christ!

So, Stand Up and Shake It Off

SAY…I CAN!  Watch Me!

Where’s the money, Honey?

Have you ever noticed that the world revolves around money?  Have you ever noticed that the more you think about money, the less you find yourself having in your pockets?  Why is that?  Well, today, we are going to cover the whole MONEY issue; in a very plain and simple way.  So, let’s get started.

Like most Christians, we are taught to pray for our answers.  We are taught seed, time and harvest.  Now, don’t get me wrong…these are wonderful tools that God has given us and are discussed in great length throughout the Bible.

However, we tend to miss the most important lesson when we pray for financial abundance and breakthroughs.  What most of us do when we pray is to tell God what we want and think. So, when we don’t receive the answers we desperately prayed for, we get discouraged and think God didn’t answer our prayers.

What we must realize is that money is not our answer.  Yes, we have bills to pay or we have something in mind that we would like to buy and we seek God for our miraculous solutions.  But the whole problem with this thinking is that GOD KNOW WHAT’S BEST FOR US…WE DON’T!

The best way to describe it is that you can be a billionaire and have bad health.  You can have all the money in the world and be depressed.  You could have everything your heart desires and be full of anger, loneliness or sadness.  Money can slip through your fingers so fast that it makes your head spin.  Again, MONEY IS NOT THE ANSWER!  GOD IS!

What I’ve come to realize is that I don’t just want the money, Honey…I want the complete package (III John 2):

  • The wisdom and knowledge to use the funds properly.
  • The who, what, when and where to bless others.
  • How to invest correctly.
  • Happiness, Joy, Peace and everything in between.

See, God wants us whole; nothing missing and nothing broken.  He doesn’t want us to just “get by“, He wants us to have “more than enough”!  He will give us the wisdom and knowledge to handle the miraculous solutions He has coming our way.  All we have to do is learn to rest in His provisions, then the whole universe opens up to us. (Malachi 3:10)  The best part about it is that whatever the Lord brings, there is absolutely no pain or sorrow attached.  So, seek what HE wants us to have not what we think we need.

God still works miracles everyday and He definitely wants the absolute best for us all.  So…LOOK UP – YOUR WILDEST DREAMS ARE ABOUT TO BECOME REALITY!
