Setup NOT Setback

Broken PiecesOne of the greatest stories ever told in the Bible is about the young man, Joseph. God gave him a dream at a very young age. However, he wasn’t given the “how” or “when” of the dream.

Joseph’s life was a whirlwind of events. He was his father’s favorite son, which unfortunately, lead to his brothers’ jealousy. I’m sure Joseph didn’t realize that this jealousy would lead him to being thrown into a pit, sold into slavery by his own brothers, and being thrown into jail for something he didn’t commit.

Think what must have ran through his mind. He must have wondered about “why” bad things keep happening to him. Why did his brothers do this? Why would God allow this? What happened to the dream?

Here he was a young man that received an incredible dream from God Himself. You can only imagine his excitement. The Bible even tells us that he was so excited, he shared the dream with his family. Even though Joseph was excited, his family…especially his brothers were not enthused about it.

Best yet to comeJoseph found himself going through terrible things in his life. The more he tried, the worse things became. I’m sure he had no idea that he would hit every brick wall imaginable just for doing what was right.

So, what was his response to all the “so called” setbacks? He trusted God. No matter how bad things got or how many setbacks he encountered, he trusted God. As Joseph said in Genesis 50:20, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

Joseph never could have imagined that he was going to be one of the most powerful men of his time. He had no idea that he would end up saving so many lives; including his own family. The very brothers that sold him into slavery.

Yet through it all, Joseph remained faithful to God. There is so much we can learn from his story. No matter what adversity you encounter, no matter how bleak your circumstances look right now…know that God is setting you up for something amazing.

Just like Joseph, we need to stay focused on God who promises that all things will turn out in our favor. We will be victorious and successful against all the odds. It doesn’t matter what is happening in our lives right now. It doesn’t matter if we can’t see a way out of our situation.

We might not know the “how” or “when”; but we can be absolutely certain that our FUTURE IS GOING TO BE BETTER THAN WE COULD EVER DREAMED! GOD PROMISES IT AND IT WILL BE SO!

Unleash Your Potential

God's PlanEver feel like you are going in circles? Just when you think you are heading in the right direction, you seem to hit every road block there is or something happens in your life that makes you second guess yourself. It never fails that when you are spending time with the Lord and you are stepping out in faith, things seem to come against you in a fury.

According to Jeremiah 29:11, God has an amazing plan for every single one of us. A plan that is far greater than anything we could imagine. However, as God’s plan starts taking shape, you will find that great adversity comes your way too.

God’s plan should give us great hope for our future. God’s plan is so incredible that most people will not understand what you are doing or where you are going. God’s plan is filled with peace, love, joy and prosperity…but as you step out towards that plan, there are many things that will come against you. It is during those times that your faith is being tested.

When you find yourself in adversity and everything that can go wrong ~ goes wrong…do you allow yourself to wallow in the pain, hurt, frustration, anger and lack or do you come running boldly to the Throne of God to place it all at His feet?

God has unlimited potential for your life but we need to cooperate with God and His plan. We need to break the barriers of contentment, pain, frustration, hurt, and anger while continuing to learn and grow through it all.

Every day is important. Every day we need to be spending time with God. This is the only way He can help develop us into the person He knows we can be. You may have had someone prophesize wonderful things over your life or you may have been given a wonderful vision. However, if you do not take the time to develop and understand God’s ways then your ultimate plan may get off course or never materialize. We have to stay the course and allow God to direct our footsteps. Without Him we are nothing but with Him we are everything! (John 15:5)

Don’t settle for contentment or feel the need to fit in. God has a specific plan for your life and it needs time to develop. Let God show you your God-given gifts and talents. For when you allow Him to take control and step out in faith, He will open doors that no man can shut and shut the doors that no man can open.

Don’t waste another single moment! Reach out to your Lord and Savior today! No matter how you feel, no matter who talks badly about you, no matter what you see in your life…God wants the absolute best for you and is willing to make it all come true. But you need to cooperate with Him by meeting Him first in the morning. Let God be God in your life. You will never know what you’re capable of until God gets involved. It is because of Him that you have unlimited potential and unlimited grace that comes upon you.

Be that one light shining on the hill that no one ever has seen until today! God will make a way when there is none. God will provide when you can’t see how. God will give you peace in the middle of any storm. No one and nothing can do what God can do! He is the great physician. He is the great peace. He is your strength when you are weak. He is your friend when all others fail you. He is closer than a brother. He is all this and more. So place all your cares upon His shoulder and allow Him to do all the heavy lifting.

So…I wish to encourage you to seek His plan above all else. Seek His wisdom for it is finer than gold and silver. Seek His presence through all your difficulties. He promises to deliver you and fulfill the plans He has for you!

Unleash Your Potential Today!

YOU WILL BE VICTORIOUS IN THE END!

Words Hurt

Broken Heart (2014_03_10 01_21_18 UTC)Have you ever been called dumb, stupid or maybe even an idiot? Maybe you’ve been told that you’ll never amount too much. Words can definitely impact your life. Just as positive things spoken about you can impact the way you see yourself, so can negative connotations.

You may find yourself living in difficult situations where frustration is the norm. You might be living in extreme poverty. You could even be struggling with finding employment, losing your home, struggling with addictions/health issues or having family strife. However, know that this does not define you!

See the thing is, as you walk towards God’s will in your life, things may not look good to those around you. You may even find yourself being the joke of those closest to you. But what you need to realize is that they simply don’t get it. They feel you need to live like they live. They want you doing things like they do. They want you to be like them.

Even though you may care about those around you, the hardest and most difficult thing to do is to follow God’s path for your life. Whether it makes sense to others or not, God has a specific purpose for your life. He knows exactly what He is doing and what you need to do in order to complete it. People are not always going to understand why you are doing what you are doing. They only can think about making money, buying material things, looking like the rest of the world. But we are not of this world. We may live in it but we are not of it. As a follower of Christ, we are called to be the light of the world.

During times like these, it is extremely important to remember who you are in Christ. As Isaiah 11:2 says:

“And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.”

When your life looks absolutely crazy and unbearable to others; sometimes even to ourselves…we must remember that God has a plan for us. While others are calling you stupid or dumb, what really matters is that you have the wisdom of God. One small touch of God’s grace in your life will make all your naysayers ask what the heck is going on.

God is the way, the truth, and the life. When He calls you for a specific purpose, it won’t matter what anyone else thinks. God is the alpha and omega; He knows the end from the beginning. So there is absolutely nothing that can happen to you without His knowledge. It is His knowledge, His grace, His love, His peace, His protection and His provision that will leave the rest wanting to know what you already know. This is true wisdom.

Don't Give up

So while others have their fun at your expense, don’t let it bother you. For when God’s amazing grace comes rushing upon you in His perfect time…He will open the right doors, the right opportunities, and the right people to come upon your life that will leave everyone else around you with their mouths wide open in shock!

SO…GET READY FOR THE LORD ALMIGHTY’S

HAND TO COME UPON YOU!

He promises that it will be beyond anything you can ask or think! Praise the Lord for He Is Worthy to be praised!

Vengeance Is The Lords

bad customer4Over the past few months, one of our family friends has been viciously attacked by another business owner. Our family friend is an 83 year old business woman who has worked extremely hard all her life. After the loss of her husband, she worked even harder. She loves her business and her customers; striving to give them a wonderful experience each and every time. Unfortunately, the gentleman she rents her shop from has no respect for woman in general. He believes that all women are beneath him and are not worthy of his time. He feels it is alright to yell, scream and belittle people just because he owns the building. No one is safe under his roof and confrontations is the norm.

A few weeks ago, my mom and I went to our friend’s shop to help her rearrange the shelves and give the shop a new feel. The energy in the shop had become quite stagnant because of the discontentment the building owner had created. So we worked all weekend, moving and organizing things to help our friend get some pep back in her step. It was fantastic. All three of us were laughing, singing, and just having a good ol’ time during the process. Our friend started feeling vibrant again. She was overwhelmed that we would take so much time to help her so we just kept singing “because your worth it” all day.

Before we left the building, we prayed that God would open up new opportunities and bless her place of business with a newness and vibrancy that she desperately needed. At the very end of the prayer, we prayed and agreed that when two or more agree, it will be done.

Matthew 18:19: Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. that when two or more agree, it will be done.

Little did we know what God had planned.

Over the course of the next two weeks, the building owner started arguing with his security guard and other business owners who rented space in his building. He became more vicious in his verbal attacks. He found himself under some death threats and lawsuits. It started a landslide of events. The building owner became more and more on edge. His stomach started giving him difficulties. And many shop owners are having to make decisions if they too should leave this ruthless building owner. But all of this still wasn’t going to make the building owner back down. He ended up arguing, lying, and doing everything he could to get some of his renters to sell their businesses to him. It truly was an ugly sight.

Our family friend decided enough was enough. She didn’t want to leave her business but knew she couldn’t go on under these circumstances. My mom went over to the shop to help our friend take inventory and help start getting things ready to move. Unbeknownst to my mom, she had walked into the devil’s lair and a battle for our friend’s livelihood. The building owner was determined to make our friend sell to him. After hours of having to battle this man’s disgusting display of temper tantrums, our friend decided to sell right on the spot. Unfortunately, the building owner kept all the funds for supposedly lack of rent payments. So now our friend was not only out of business, she was out of inventory and funds too.

Now you might be wondering what the good news is in this story. Well that’s the best part. As God tells us in Romans 12:18-20:

18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. 19 Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,” says the Lord. 20 “BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD.”

So what happened…GOD IS WHAT HAPPENED! All of a sudden, our friend was being visited by another business owner who heard about what happened. He offered her a management position in his business doing what she loves to do. He personally took her to fill out all the paper work, paid for all the fees, provided part of her paycheck upfront (so she had funds) and took her to meet his team. He put his arm around her and told the team, she is your new manager and we are going to take good care of her.

No matter what you face today and no matter who is coming after you, don’t lose heart. If God can completely change the course of an 83 year old woman’s journey…what do you think he can do for you? My answer…GIVE IT TO GOD AND SEE HIS MIGHTY HAND UPON YOUR LIFE! For there is absolutely nothing too hard for our Lord Almighty! He will put the right people, at the right time with the right opportunity in your life, unexpectedly!
