Experience Real Happiness

joy-the grinchWho do you listen to? Do you listen to the world’s perspective of happiness? Do you listen to all the commercials saying buy this or buy that, while the actor or actress is showing you fun, excitement, happiness, joy? Do you listen to pastors or religious leaders who tell you “if you send $1,000 today and stand on “blah, blah, blah scripture”, God will make all your problems go away in the next 30 days?

Sorry everybody but God doesn’t work that way. Now He may guide you to purchase something, He may guide you to give that $1,000 because He has something in store for you, He may guide you to do something out of the ordinary to get something extraordinary. HOWEVER…God wants you living a life of pure happiness all the time, not just a one time deal!

When you see things from God’s perspective, your feelings must bend to your faith. You won’t need to purchase something to be happy. Your circumstances don’t need to change before you can be happy. No…God wants us living in perfect peace and harmony all the time; no matter what your circumstances look like.

The world wants us to believe that if you buy this…you’ll look better, feel better, be happier; but happiness…TRUE HAPPINESS…can’t be bought. Real deep-piercing, gut-giddy happiness can only come from your Heavenly Father.

“The joy of the Lord is my strength!” (Nehemiah 8:10, Psalm 28:7)

No matter what your circumstances are, no matter what your feelings feel, no matter what you have to endure to get through the day…you can experience joy every step of the way! The key to your happiness is not buying things or pleading more…the real key is keeping your eyes fixed on the Lord. When you experience and have real deep knowledge of what the Lord experienced, what the Lord accomplished by His death and resurrection; you will undoubtedly know that you know whatever comes against you will never succeed. For Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. He wants you complete, whole, happy and living in peace no matter what you face. Because the truth and the whole truth is very simple…the more you can see what Jesus accomplished, the more you spend time to learn about Him, the more you build your faith and lean on Him…the more joy you will experience.

When Paul and Silas was thrown into the deepest and darkest prison, they didn’t think about their circumstances. They didn’t let their bad day stop them from experiencing joy. They had every right to feel sorry for themselves. They had every right to feel angry, depressed or let their feelings get the best of them. But they turned a bad situation into a praise-a-thon!

“But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.” (Acts 16:25)

So the next time you have something go wrong or you feel angry or someone says something bad about you or you wish your circumstances would change…do what Paul and Silas did…start singing and worshiping the Lord. Make your situation and feelings bow to the Lord. He will make a way when there isn’t one. He will fill you with peace that surpasses understanding. He will be your strength and most importantly…He will be your joy no matter what you face today!

For your real-deep-giddy happiness lies with the Lord Himself. Don’t let another day pass you by without having the true happiness He wishes you to have!

Da Real Purpose

1 Cor 11:23 “For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

27 So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. 29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.”

One of the most precious and rewarding acts we easily forget is taking communion. So many have been taught that it should be done only on special holidays. Some have been taught that you must be pure when you take communion or you will become sick or weak. That is the furthest from the truth you can get.

What you must remember is that when you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, your sins were forgiven! He makes you pure and white as snow.

Da Real Purpose of the communion is to remember the true reason behind it. Don’t do it haphazardly or without thought. When you break the bread, you should remember that Jesus’ body was broken for you. When you sip from the cup, you should remember that His blood was shed for you. That’s it, nothing more.

When you feel lost, unworthy, guilty, pain, sorrow and in need of help, the absolutely best thing you can do is partake in the communion. Whether you do it every day or once a week, the communion was given to us to remember what JESUS ACCOMPLISHED FOR US! He has given us a way to overcome the things that are coming against us. It was HIM and HIM ALONE!!!!

From this point forward, I ask you to partake of the communion every day. Begin to see the truth of Jesus’ sacrifice for you. Remember to celebrate that your sins are forgiven. Rejoice that one day He will come back to rule and reign. Receive your healing, restoration and strength that He purchased for you with His body and blood.

Don’t waste another day feeling weak, sick or defeated…receive and partake in Da Real Purpose of the communion and see Him work mightily in your life today!

You’re Being Set Up

God's GloryDid you know that your crisis is a setup for God’s glory!

Think about it…When so many things are coming against you, when the pain and sorrow is so bad that you don’t care what you look like or what people say about you, when you feel utterly empty, sad, alone, unhappy, defeated and depressed…most people would write you off. People would say there’s no hope. People would say you are a failure.

It’s hard to keep doing what God called you to do in the midst of the crisis. It’s hard to stand on the promises of God when everything around you is in chaos. It’s hard to read the gospel when all you want to do is cry. It’s hard to keep praying when you have no idea what to pray for.

Your emptiness, loneliness, singleness, unhappiness, hurt, pain and sorrow is never wasted when it’s for the Glory of God. You might have tried doing everything and failed. You’ve cried till your eyes are puffy and failed. You’ve turned to your family and friends yet everything still fails.

REMEMBER…It only takes one small touch from God to reverse course.

Think about it this way…When everything is going wrong and you get to the point that unless God touches your life, you see absolutely no way out. At this point, who would you praise when things miraculously turnaround into your favor and breakthroughs start happening so rapidly that your head spins? GOD DOES!!!

Psalm 107:2 “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;”

He’ll turn your sorrow to happiness, your frown to a smile, sickness and disease to restored health, your poverty into more than enough to spare and share, your sour relationships to loving partnerships and your loss to much gain.

Not one stone will be left un-turned when God moves mightily in your life. We may not understand the squeeze. We may not understand why all the sour lemons are being thrown. But what we can know is that we serve a MIGHTY GOD who created the universe.

Jesus was squeezed in every area of life before He chose to go to the cross. His stress and pain was so great, His sweat was droplets of blood. It’s His blood that will prevail. It’s His sacrifice that is more than enough to give us victory. When Jesus’ squeeze was finished…the grave couldn’t hold Him. He prevailed and received the ultimate victory…sitting at the Right Hand of our Father.gods-glory

Don’t think for one moment that Jesus doesn’t know what you’re going through. He gave you the victory…grab hold and don’t let go when things start getting rough. The rougher the road, the more incredible your outcome will be. Rejoice in your squeezing because you are about to make the most incredible lemonade there is.

Let Him shine in your life today! For when He does, all those people who wrote you off will be looking at you in AWE seeing that your God is real and truly does exist! You’ll have the most amazing testimony to share with all those who might not have believed!

So…Get ready to praise loudly for He moves swiftly and mightily!

AND…the Glory will be ALL HIS!

Round and Round

going-around-incirclesHave you ever felt like you are going in circles? Ever feel like no matter what you do, things aren’t changing? Ever feel like you were stuck in a rut with no way out?

All of us feel like this at times. Lately, it appears to be happening more than normal. During these times, it is easy to feel like life will never change. It’s easy to feel like life isn’t fair. It’s easy to feel frustrated, give up or to begin coveting your neighbor and what they have.

You were destined for great things. God has a purpose for everything you are going through. Not one small, tiny aspect misses the mark. When we are at our lowest points in life, God is there. He already has a way when we don’t. You may have been going through hell and back, struggling everyday just to get your head off your pillow in the morning or you may be asking what is the point of it all or why are all of these things keep happening to you.

I will restore

When you are faced with difficult situations or obstacles, it’s important not to lean on your own understanding or your own power or strength. When things are spiraling out of control and nothing you do seems to be making a difference, you need to become determined in the Holy Spirit. It won’t be by your own effort but by the Holy Spirit’s effort. The Holy Spirit is your helper, your guide so you need to lean on Him and Him alone. (Zechariah 4:6)

In the midst of your pain, suffering, and chaos; don’t despise the small things. When we despise little beginnings, we end up taking them lightly or disregard their importance.

When we are believing God for something “big” or some major changes in our life, we need to remember that great things start small and appreciate the days of small beginnings. (Zechariah 4:10) See, if we can recognize that we are in a battle and the small things are stepping stones of God’s greater things to come, than we can stand our ground and wait for the Lord to make things turn around in our favor.

Don’t miss out in God’s abundant life of peace, love, joy and victory while you’re going through some difficult stuff. God gave us power, love and a sound mind. It doesn’t matter what we see, it’s who we belong to that makes all the difference in the world. Don’t give up hope because your hope is in the Lord and He will make things turn out for your good. Don’t give into fear because perfect love casts out all fear.

Feed yourself with scripture daily and watch God’s truth come alive. Watch peace, love, joy and strength break through while your spirit is being fed. God has good things in store for you. Stop going in circles and stand strong in the face of your fear, doubt or worry. God will see you through it all and when His timing is perfect…your life will skyrocket in the most profound way. He promises joy for your tears. He promises health, love, and happiness. All things will work out for your good. So dig your heels in and appreciate your small beginnings. For those small beginnings will turn into your best days that are just around the corner.

God is your source, your provider, your healer, your helper, your everything! Stand strong and watch things turn around just when all hope seems to be lost. We serve an Almighty God that won’t let you down, he promises to restore all things to you.
