Where’s the Money, Honey?

Have you noticed just how much the world revolves around money? Have you ever noticed that the more you think about money, the less you find yourself having in your pockets? Why is that?

Well, today, we are going to cover the whole MONEY issue; in a very plain and simple way.  So, let’s get started.

Like most Christians, we are taught to pray for our answers. We are taught seed, time and harvest. Now, don’t get me wrong…these are wonderful tools that God has given us and are discussed at great length throughout the Bible. We are definitely supposed to utilize these tools.

However, we tend to miss the most important lesson when we pray for financial abundance and breakthroughs. What most of us do when we pray is to tell God what we want and how to give it to us. So, when we don’t receive the exact answers we were looking for, we get discouraged and think God didn’t answer our prayers.

What we must realize is that money is not our answer. Yes, we have bills to pay or we have something in mind that we would like to buy. However, GOD KNOW WHAT’S BEST FOR US…WE DON’T!

The best way to describe it is that you can be a billionaire and have bad health. You can have all the money in the world and be depressed. You could have everything your heart desires and be full of anger, loneliness or sadness. Money can slip through your fingers so fast that it makes your head spin. Again, MONEY IS NOT THE ANSWER!  GOD IS!

What I’ve come to realize is that I don’t just want the money, Honey…I want the complete package (III John 2):

  • The wisdom and knowledge to use the funds properly.
  • The who, what, when and where to bless others.
  • How to invest correctly.
  • Happiness, Joy, Peace and everything in between.

See, God wants us whole; nothing missing and nothing broken. He doesn’t want us to just “get by“…He wants us to have “overflowing, pressed down and shaken together, more than enough”!

God wants to see you happy, healthy, prosperous, and filled with joy. Nothing would make Him happier than to see you loving life in every area.

So today, I ask you to let your requests be know to God. BUT…let God be God and provide you HIS way, in HIS timing, and in HIS supernatural perfection. For whatever HE BRINGS will have no pain or sorrow attached! Whatever HE BRINGS will be beyond anything you could have ever asked for, dreamed of, or even imagined.

We serve an AMAZING FATHER WHO LOVES YOU TOO MUCH JUST TO GIVE YOU A PIECE OF THE PIE! HE WANTS YOU TO HAVE THE WHOLE PACKAGE!

Where’s the money, Honey?

Have you ever noticed that the world revolves around money?  Have you ever noticed that the more you think about money, the less you find yourself having in your pockets?  Why is that?  Well, today, we are going to cover the whole MONEY issue; in a very plain and simple way.  So, let’s get started.

Like most Christians, we are taught to pray for our answers.  We are taught seed, time and harvest.  Now, don’t get me wrong…these are wonderful tools that God has given us and are discussed in great length throughout the Bible.

However, we tend to miss the most important lesson when we pray for financial abundance and breakthroughs.  What most of us do when we pray is to tell God what we want and think. So, when we don’t receive the answers we desperately prayed for, we get discouraged and think God didn’t answer our prayers.

What we must realize is that money is not our answer.  Yes, we have bills to pay or we have something in mind that we would like to buy and we seek God for our miraculous solutions.  But the whole problem with this thinking is that GOD KNOW WHAT’S BEST FOR US…WE DON’T!

He doesn’t want us to just “get by“, He wants us to have “more than enough”!  He will give us the wisdom and knowledge to handle the miraculous solutions He has coming our way.  All we have to do is learn to rest in His provisions, then the whole universe opens up to us. (Malachi 3:10)  The best part about it is that whatever the Lord brings, there is absolutely no pain or sorrow attached.  So, seek what HE wants us to have not what we think we need.

God still works miracles everyday and He definitely wants the absolute best for us all.  So…LOOK UP – YOUR WILDEST DREAMS ARE ABOUT TO BECOME REALITY!

Special Edition – CHOICES

In this special edition, I would like to share with you an amazing and valuable lesson I learned recently.  I can tell you right off the bat, most people who read this won’t understand.  However, for those of you who really want to follow Christ; will completely understand the test I was about to embark upon.

To give you a quick back drop…God continuously has shown me that he wanted me to help others understand how to overcome emotions.  I never dreamed of being a writer nor have I ever thought of having my very own website.  But, God’s ways are higher than our own; that’s for sure.  The book and website was all God.  I had never used the software programs that were needed to complete these things nor did I have the experience or training within these programs.  Yet, God provided for me every step of the way.  And, I certainly haven’t had to struggle through all of the steps in order to accomplish His tasks.  So, I’m obviously walking in His true path for my life because it has been a very easy and peaceful path to take.

With that being said, my difficult test began…

Recently, I was contacted about a great job opportunity.  It was a 3 month contractual job with great pay.  Now in the past, I would have jumped on a chance like this.  However, this situation became a major dilemma for me.  It tied my stomach in knots for days.  Here’s why…

This particular position would be considered a gold-mine for most people.  Great pay, short-term position…it would have set my finances up for quite a few months after the job was long gone.  Yet, deep inside, I was conflicted.  With this position, came long hours and a huge commute, downtown each day.  No big deal, I’m used to that…So, what’s the problem?

Unfortunately, there would have been absolutely no way I would have the strength or time to continue God’s path that I’m currently on.  Oh, let me tell you, I was making every debate in my mind:

  1. God provided me with this opportunity.
  2. God would give me the strength.
  3. God would give me the time I needed to keep writing.
  4. God would make rush hour easier.
  5. And the list went on and on.

But the whole time I was trying to make sense of it all, I knew that the decision was an either/or situation.  I simply don’t know how I knew, I just knew.  What made it worse was that my family really could use the funds that this position offered.  What in the world was I supposed to do?

I immediately discussed the situation with my mom to get her feedback; since she would be affected by the decision as well.  We weighed the pros and cons together.  We tried to review every aspect, yet in the end, my mom said to me, “Why don’t you go get quiet, pray for guidance and ask God for the answer”.  There was no mistaking her wisdom…God has given her great insight through all these major changes lately and He was helping me to look higher than my current circumstances.

So, I took her advice.  I knelt on my knees, got quiet and asked God for guidance.  I discussed everything with Him; the pros, the cons, the money.  With tears flowing, I’m telling God that my family needed the funds and I know that I could put everything on the backburner for 3 months and that He would understand.  I also promised Him that when the job was done, I would get back to His writing.

But the whole time, in my heart, I knew that wasn’t true.  I knew that it would stop the amazing flow of grace He has placed on my family during all these changes.  God has been slowly changing all of us, laughter has been raining in my family and it has become such a wonderful place to be.  So, how could I let that go?  We have come so far in such a short period of time, God was with us.

What I came to realize was that the bottom-line question was simple …follow God or follow the money.  When I put it that way…there was absolutely no choice.  God will provide the funds we need so that we can keep moving in His chosen path.  God has helped me every step of the way.  He has changed my thinking, my heart, my life…all for the good.  How could I possibly stop His amazing flow of ideas and creativity; just for the money?  In all reality, it wasn’t a difficult choice…I CHOSE GOD!

I can tell you, as soon as the choice was made; God filled both mom and I with such an incredible peace.  It was like he was giving us instant confirmation that the right choice was made.  It was an absolutely amazing experience.

A particular scripture has been mulling in my head ever since: “…faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.”  As children of God, we are to trust and believe in Him whether we understand His purpose or not.  And one thing is for certain, the devil will do anything he can to hinder God’s purpose for our lives.  He makes the wrong way feel so inviting to our minds and senses.  Yet, deep inside,  you will know the right way to go as God will make it perfectly clear.

So when this happens to you, just keep in mind the simple question:  Does it take you away from God’s purpose or does it place you closer to His calling?  The choice will be yours.  What will you choose when the time comes?

Stinkin’ Thinkin’

Everyday we are bombarded by thoughts.  Maybe you heard a song on the radio and started to reminisce about days gone by.  Or, you’re at work and a thought pops into your head and you wonder where did that come from?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with thoughts.  They are a part of our everyday life.  With all the memories created throughout our life, it would be impossible not to think of them from time to time.  However, there is a different side to our thought life that has devastating consequences.

When you are going through difficult times, your thoughts tend to be on the negative side.

Thoughts like:

  • I don’t have enough money.
  • I’ll never make something of myself.
  • I don’t have the right education or skills.
  • I can’t do it, it’s too hard.
  • I will never get over this sickness.
  • I’m a failure.
  • And so on, and so on, and so on…

One of the quickest and sure-fire ways to pain and suffering is to allow STINKIN’ THINKIN” into your life.  They are extremely harmful.  John 10:10 tells us that “the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy”.  One of his ways of trying to destroy you is through your mind.  As soon as a negative thought pops into your mind and you allow it to stay there; mulling it over, the devil has you under his control.  Yet, the worse part is, is that if we allow ourselves to constantly think these stinkin’ thinkin’ thoughts; we remain in the difficult situation and it actually begins to spill into other areas of our life, becoming much worse than before.

Proverbs 23:7, tells us, “as he thinks, so is he.”  So, let’s stop for a moment and really grasp this concept.  If I am thinking that I’m a failure then, by this scripture, I am a failure.  If I’m thinking that I’ll never have enough money then it tells me that I will continue to live in poverty.  So, as you can see, just by this scripture alone, the Bible makes it very clear that our thought life is powerful.  What we think about ourselves and our lives is exactly what it will become.

Then, what should we do about it?  Overcoming stinkin’ thinkin’ can be quite simple.  The best way to start is by realizing that Jesus defeated everything that could ever come against us.  In 1 John 3:8, it explains the very reason why Jesus came to Earth, “…The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.”  It simply doesn’t matter if you are being attacked in your health, relationships, finances, or in any other area of your life…Jesus WON long time ago.

So with this in mind, what does the Bible have to say about the things we should keep in our minds?

  • Philippians 4:8   “…whatever is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely…dwell on these things.”
  • 1 John 3:1            “…great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we be called children of God….”
  • John 10:10          “…He came to give us life and life more abundantly.”
  • Psalm 23:1           “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not lack.”
  • 2 Samuel 22:2     “The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress and my Deliverer.”
  • Isaiah 55:8           “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways.”
  • Philippians 4:13  “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

If you stop and really think about these scriptures, any stinkin’ thinkin’ that comes into your mind has absolutely no right to be there.  God’s word simply tells us that no matter what we’re going through…We are WINNERS!  We are VICTORIOUS!

Since, Jesus already WON the battle and He is certainly more than capable of handling our situations, then, all we need to do is keep our thoughts on Him.  And I for one believe that there is absolutely no better place to be, but, in the hands of Jesus.

So, as you can see, maintaining positive thoughts is detrimental to your well-being.  Take a stand against negative stinkin’ thinkin’.  Keep your thoughts on His word and become aggressive, for you are already a WINNER!

THINK LIKE IT…ACT LIKE IT!  For your best days are just ahead!
