Your Perspective Is Everything

When life throws you a curve ball, your perspective in the midst of the storm will be considerably different from when you obtain your victory afterwards.

Here’s a great quick clip of Pastor Steven Furtick’s take on the matter. It is a great reminder to help us see God’s perspective through the storm and realize there is something bigger coming on the other side of it.

Solid Rock

We sure can give the devil alot of air time. When anything happens that we don’t like, we quickly say the devil did it. The devil gave me a flat tire, the devil gave me the flu, the devil made that person treat me badly or walk away.

What if it was God who made it happen? Now I know what you must be thinking…
“God would never do such a thing.”
“God would never allow something bad to happen.”
“God would never allow someone to treat us wrong or walk away.”

But guess what, His word says He does.
Haggai 1:9 “You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?” declares the Lord Almighty. “Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house.”

God allows certain things to happen in our lives so we won’t blow it. It’s not to punish you or get back at you…it’s to protect you. If He allows us to depend on ourselves or others, we can easily get too attached to it and forget that He is our source.

He created us. He breathed life into us. He gave us our gifts. He gave us our professions. He gave us family. He gave us friends. He gave us the funds. He owns it all but He has freely given to us and we need to make sure we keep our eyes fixed on Him and not our things.

When God sees us building our house on sinking sand and not His strong foundation, He might step in to rattle our lives a bit to help us refocus and return to Him. He would rather see us go through a season of frustration than to build our lives on the wrong foundation. That’s how awesome and loving our Father is!

He wants each of us to be significant and sometimes the only way to do that is shake us up a bit to get us back onto the right path. Don’t let the would of, could of, should of, fixing too thoughts wane you from God. We all have plans in motion and the plan might be God’s plan for our lives. But if we take our focus off Him and start believing in ourselves, the plan, our works, our friends/family, our money or anything else more than God Himself, then you can definitely expect a shake up to come.

Don’t forget who is the plan master, the provider, the distributor and the opportunity maker. Build your house on His strong foundation; making Him your first priority every single day and in everything you do, then you don’t have to worry, stress or fear about what the day brings.

Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

What’s Love Got To Do With It

Have you ever noticed how much we are bombarded with commercials showing what the world thinks about love? Buy this product and she’ll love you. Or buy that product and she’ll love you. The world likes to portray love as you do this and they’ll do that. You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours. This isn’t love!

At one point in life or another, most of us have tried to “buy” love or looked for love in all the wrong places. We get excited when we meet someone and we’ll do anything to show them we care. But then slowly it begins to fade and the deep void within begins to grow bigger until you realize something is missing. Now, I’m not saying that doing or buying nice things is bad. What I’m saying is that if you had a void before love and you still have a void when you are in love then there is something deeper going on and no matter how many gifts you purchase; none of them will be fulfilling.

Most people think that if they find a mate, life will be perfect. Or they think, if only I had more money, I would feel happier. Nothing could be further from the truth. For we can not expect someone or something to make us happy. If we are unhappy with ourselves, then how could they possibly make us happy. It just isn’t possible and we are setting them and ourselves up for failure.

Let’s take a cat or dog, for an example. Say you have been gone all day long. You open the door to find that loving pet excited to see you. Whether they are jumping up and down or jumping into your lap, they trusted you to come home and they are excited to show you how much they love and missed you. It is completely unconditional. They are just happy to see you, without getting anything in return.

Well, that is how God loves us. We can’t earn God’s love nor do we deserve it. He just simply loves us! It is unconditional. (Ephesians 3:14-19)  He doesn’t care if we are short, tall, black, white, brown, overweight, skinny or have pimples. He loves us RIGHT NOW, NO MATTER WHAT!

We can’t truly love until we feel loved ourselves. We need to learn that God loves us. We need to feel that God loves us. We have to have a deep knowing that we are loved and it doesn’t matter what we say or do! Otherwise, we are just spinning our wheels getting nowhere because no one else could possibly fill the void but God!

God Loves You 2

When we start experiencing this type of love, then and only then, can we possibly begin showing love for others. This kind of love doesn’t depend on if the person deserves our love or not, nor does it depend on what gifts they will give us. We simply realize that God loves us and He loves them too. When you start loving this way, nothing and I do mean nothing can take the place of it. THIS IS TRUE LOVE!

You are a one-of-a-kind person. God made you and sent His Amazing Son to die for you. No one is like you. So why don’t you start seeing just how special you truly are and love yourself as God loves you. Once you do, you’ll begin to experience the most incredible, amazing, loving relationships that you desperately crave! And the best part is you won’t have to go looking for it. God will bring it to you at the right place, at the right time, and at the perfect moment! It will be simply PERFECT!

God’s Blessings

Isn’t it amazing how quickly we can forget the incredible blessings that that God has given us? Once we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, we tend to struggle very heavily in our minds. Being bombarded by negative thoughts and doubts; leading us into stress and worry. We think it sounds great in the Bible yet we doubt that it could happen in our lives today. However, God is not a respecter of persons. (Acts 10:34)

Every single day, we need to remind ourselves that if God said it…then, it will be done. There are no “ifs or buts” about it. No matter what we are facing, God gave us the answer. All we need to do is begin believing that whatever He did in the Bible, He can and will do for us in our lives today!

Let’s take a closer look at what God has to say…
